What remains 2022
There are fleeting friendships and those that go far beyond the moment and perhaps last a lifetime - with and/or without interruptions. The latter are those that surrender to the cycle of life, follow the ups and downs, grow from the resulting experiences, and share both positive and negative things without judgement or condemnation. Friendship is a fundamental constant in life, a bond based on feelings, emotions, trust, and experiences that are constantly evolving, changing, and growing with people. Friendship is a safe place between reality and fantasy.
This is a homage to the women closest to me in my life.
The quotes are from them.
For me, friendship is not tied to a specific place. I couldn't name a real physical place that I associate with our friendship. Our friendship is a metaphorical house, detached from any physicality, that can be projected, carried, and located in any real place.
There were many moments in our friendship when I couldn't say anything, when I didn't have to say anything and yet you were there and felt a gap or broadened my horizon.
Friendships change with the people who develop, gain experience, discover new things, make mistakes, or enter new life situations. changes have accompanied us for the many years that we have known each other.
It's good conversations, similar values, and above all the acceptance of being different that connect us and that I value in our friendship and why I hold on to it so much. That's what remains.
